Our Story
A personal search for gentler care grew into a small-batch body-care studio—made with intention in Plano, Texas.
The beginning
A familiar feeling. A kitchen table. A new idea.
Like many people, our founder knows how frustrating it can be to search for body care that feels right for dry, sensitive skin. When winter made that feeling more noticeable, she began paying closer attention to the everyday products she used—and what went into them.
The search became something hands-on. In her own kitchen, she started making soap. What followed was a long stretch of research, learning, and practice. There were setbacks along the way—batches that didn’t turn out as hoped and lessons that only came with trying again. Rather than rush past those moments, she kept learning, including through multiple master classes, and carried each new lesson back to the work.
Little by little, a personal effort to find gentler care became a way to share that experience with others. As those first kitchen batches grew into a studio, one belief stayed at the heart of the work: Butter & Olive products are made with care, without shortcuts, and with only thoughtfully chosen, high-quality ingredients. That intention still guides the work in Plano, Texas today.
